Posting a Blog Entry
So last weekend I went to a wedding in Chicago. Unlike my brother's Barmitzvah, they had a hired photographer taking pictures of the event. I now see how tiring it is to be a photographer! He was running around crazily throughout the night making sure he captured every single moment. I saw him at the end of the night standing behind the stage completely worn out. I give photographers a lot of credit and I respect them greatly! I can't wait to see how his photos turn out.
Critique another classmate's music video
I wanted to comment on richard's Music video. I love the different camera shots he took when filming the video, it makes it seem like when he is practicing for his next competition that he has all of these audience members. I also enjoyed how he added in the flash back to when he was actually competing. The only criticism I personally have is that I didn't understand right away that he was working to get better because he had lost the competition. I at first thought he was practicing to compete for the first time and when he was visualizing the competition it hadn't happened yet. So the only advice I'd have since you always have to consider all of your audience, even the dumb ones like me (lol) is have it more evident that it was a past event and not a future one. Other than that it looks like he took a lot of time to put it together and it shows in the work!

Blog entry from last week- May 1st
So last weekend was my brother's bar mitzvah. It was fun and yet very emotional. I decided to take on the task of being the photographer at the event, which I have now realized is very exhausting I give those who do it for a living a lot of credit! After compiling all of my photos along with others donations I was able to start to work on my final for this class. I took each and every photo that I thought was good enough to keep and photoshopped them. I then began the challenge of placing them together to create a mantage. I'm still working hard on it today and have realized that not being familiar with iMovie only makes it that much harder to create a masterpiece. This may take me weeks to perfect!

Since our topic for the past three weeks has been focused around iPhone games, I'd like to share my latest obsession. While everyone is tied up playing the usual angry birds, doodle jump,or updating their status on the Facebook app, I have gotten addicted to the game, Words with Friends. It's basically scrabble with a new name. I got hooked thanks to my friends, what a coincidence. Now I'm playing with my boyfriend, roommate, and even my mom. I don't know why I'm so amused with spelling words to get points, but I feel compelled to continue playing. Each time a game ends we start up a new one almost instantly. If you haven't tried the game out I warn you, it's very addicting and competitive! But I also encourage you to play, who can pass up a classic game like scrabble that tests yours and your friends' intelligence? Gotta love it!

Flash website blog post
I chose the site got milk? It's cute and interactive. The imagery is filled with animals working together to produce the milk products in a factory setting. I found it interesting that no cows are present in the animation or even at all throughout the website. I really like the layout of the whole website. It's user friendly and pleasing to the eye. And most importantly, fun!

Post 8: An object well designed
Just the other day I was given pink roses by my wonderful boyfriend. Not for any particular reason, except out of the kindness of his heart. Since these flowers are not designed by the hands of a human, they are even more precious and beautiful in my opinion. One thing that makes nature so amazing, is the beautiful objects it creates for us. These flowers are colored a beautiful bright pink and when ready to bud, they spread out to create an amazing radial design. Each separate petal is needed to create the aesthetic as a whole. Unfortunately, once picked from the ground and placed into a pot of water, they only have a lifespan of at-least 1 week. Even though they only stay vibrant for a short period of time, I still enjoy recieving flowers and decorating my room with them.

Homework 7 response
The internet does make the accessibility to free things come to reality. People, however, do still enjoy paying the extra to get their "copies" in better quality or ASAP. The media around us and our peers are usually to blame for why we like to get our items as soon as they become available and in the best shape possible. Being the first to have something is always uplifting and people enjoy having the attention on them. My mom loves to get things right away when they come out. She was up at 3 a.m. for the Verizon iphone release, and just a few days ago she was in line at Best Buy at the 5 p.m. Ipad 2 release. When I ask her why she goes out of her way to do these things, she simply responds she enjoys doing it. Everyone has their own hobbies and ways of doing things. Some enjoy spending less money while others see money as not an obstacle. "Free" isn't always the best way to do things.

Homework 6 - Walter Benjamin Reading
Walter Benjamin explains in his paper, "The Work of Art in Mechanical Reproduction" that mass producing art makes art less valuable and pretty much destroys the aesthetics of the original artwork. He also believed that film was created to change people's visions of the outside world. What people watched impacted their perceptions to what was going on around them. He also felt that all of this impact could be blamed on the politicians at the time. This reminds me of propaganda in the media. A major example of this is the famous poster, "Uncle Sam, I Want You". Art was created not for enjoyment, but to influence the attitude of a certain community towards a position. I can see how art has changed throughout the years and people aren't creating work as often anymore for themselves, but mostly for a profit. Unfortunately that is how our world is today, everyone is working to make a living and people who enjoy art create it for others so they can gain cash. I completely agree with Walter Benjamin and do believe that art is not as meaningful when it is mass produced. But, unfortunately most art these days are mass produced. You walk around with a certain t-shirt you like, millions of others are doing the same thing.

One of my favorite Sites
My favorite interactive media sites as a kid was www.pogo.com. Now I only go on there when I am extremely bored. They have all sorts of games to keep you occupied. They also have avatars that you are able to customize for yourself. It is great for all ages from young kids to even elders. I know my younger brother used to play on it and now my grandmother is on there every so often. The graphics for the games are so advanced and it beats spending real money if you are in the mood to play casino games. You should check it out sometime if you get bored one day and want some classic games to play. They have monopoly, canasta, chess, scrabble, poker, pool, and so much more. Play by yourself or with others online, even your friends!

My Favorite Place to Travel
I think my favorite place to travel would have to be Utah. I've only been there once but I remember it being an amazing experience. It was different than all of the other places I've traveled to. Instead of the usual beach trip, we took a trip to the mountains where the ground was red sand and at night in the sky we could see all of the satellites clearly. Even though I do love the beach, I also love a change of scenery and out in Utah it felt like I was on a completely different continent.

Blog Response Homework 3
Please post an entry in your blog about the Reading below. Can you imagine being an artist with 1000 true fans? How would you contact them?
I have never been the type of person who likes to be center of attention. I always like putting others before myself, so I could never imagine myself having 1,000 true fans. Like the reading said, "not every artist is cut out, or willing to be a nurturer of fans." I am probably one of those artists that is not cut out for the part. Not because I am too caught up in myself, but because I wouldn't know how to handle them all. I am the type of person that enjoys one on one conversations instead of sitting in front of an audience and talking to them. I like more intimate situations which you would never accomplish with having so many fans. I could however, do the last scenario and keep a blog for myself to handle all of the fans. That would probably be the best way for me to handle the situation best. So my only two options for contacting them would probably be through a manager, or through a blog I would keep for everyone. There is no way I could handle them all on my own.

Favorite Image from worth 1000
I really like what the artist did here, they found a creative way to express greed. I think it is interesting that they changed it up and placed a quarter as the center of the eye while the dollars takes up the rest of the iris.
This photo I think is adorable and really funny. I wish I could see a puppy in real life look like this. I'm in love with his slippers!! It reminds me of a young child with glasses too big for their face.
I've seen other images with hands holding other objects and I've always loved them! This one is so cute with the miniature kitten. I wish they really existed
